In 2011 Fletchers introduced a share scheme to employees that allows everyone who works here to feel ownership of the business, and not just an employee. The scheme is affordable to all employees as it allows them to decide how much of their wages or salary they want to contribute from each pay. After employees have been in the scheme for a set period of time they also become entitled to extra reward shares that the Company contributes. In May 2012 FBuShare was awarded “Best New Employee Share Plan” by Employee Ownership Australia and New Zealand.

Employee Welfare Fund
At Fletcher Building, the creation of a supportive working environment for employees is vital to continued business success. The company's commitment to this is reflected in many programmes and initiatives across the businesses. One important initiative is the availability of a special fund, The Fletcher Building Employee Welfare Fund (EWF), to help New Zealand employees and their families in the event of death, disability or financial hardship resulting from unexpected medical misfortune.
